Adult Sketch 101: Intro to Sketch Comedy
September 13-October 6
(Mon/Wed) (7:30-9 pm)
Hybrid: Zoom/ARTfactory, 9419 Battle St, Manassas VA 20110

Have you ever had the thought, “That’s funny, I should write that down”? or ” Man, someone should turn that into a sketch”? Then you are in the right place! This class will teach you about different sketch formats and give you the opportunity to write, collaborate and perform your own material with your classmates! The focus in this course is on developing your individual voice and comedic sensibility, as well as mastering the tools you need to get comfortable writing sketch comedy. At the end of the four weeks, students will get stage time to perform their material in front of a live audience. No prior sketch writing experience is necessary- the only requirement for this class is a desire to write, perform and learn. Students should be prepared to work outside of class, writing/ rewriting sketches and rehearsing lines for performance.  (First Three Weeks online, Last week in person at the ARTfactory) Ages – Adult.

All online classes are offered with a live instructor and limited class size to provide an engaging learning environment for all participants. Online classes are presented using Zoom, so please download Zoom to an online device prior to class. Full instructions will be provided to each registrant. Only registrants will be admitted to the Zoom class.
