Getting to Manassas

Manassas is easily accessible from anywhere in the country.


To reach us by train, you may take Amtrak  or local service through Virginia Railway Express (VRE). The VRE is a commuter train that runs primarily during rush hour, Monday through Friday.  Additionally, the Washington D.C. metro system connects to the Omnilink bus service which extends to Manassas.

If you travel by plane, we have a regional airport as well as two major airports in the area:

Dulles International Airport

Reagan National Airport

While the best way to travel throughout the city is by car, there is bus access through the OmniRide and OmniLink services.

Driving Directions to Manassas:

From I-95 (Coming from Washington, DC or Richmond):

From Washington DC, take I-95 South heading towards Richmond

From Richmond, take I-95 North heading towards Washington, DC

Take Exit 152 heading North on Route 234 towards Manassas

Drive 16 miles and turn right at traffic signal onto Dumfries Rd (Business 234). This will become Grant Avenue.

Drive 3 miles north and turn right at traffic signal onto Prince William Street and drive 4 blocks to West Street.  The Visitor Center is located at 9431 West Street.

From I-66 (Coming from Washington, DC):

Take I-66 West heading towards Front Royal, VA

Take Exit 53A (Centreville/Dulles Airport Exit) to Route 28 South towards Manassas

Drive 7.5 miles until one-way traffic begins and a sign welcomes you to Old Town Manassas

Turn left onto Grant Avenue

Make an immediate left onto Center Street, OR drive another block and

Turn left onto Prince William Street

Turn left onto West Street.

The Visitor Center is located at 9431 West Street.

From I-66 (Coming from Front Royal, VA):

Take I-66 East heading towards Washington, DC

Take exit 44 (Manassas By-Pass Route 234)

Follow Route 234 By-Pass to Route 28 North exit

Take Route 28 North exit towards downtown Manassas

Traffic becomes one-way as you approach downtown, and becomes Center Street in Old Town

Turn right onto Grant Avenue, drive one block. Turn left at Prince William Street.

Turn left onto West Street.

The Visitor Center is located at 9431 West Street.
